Allocations for the two new flats will be made by North Star Housing Group through the North Yorkshire Home Choice system and applicants must meet the local connection criteria as set out by the Council in the terms of the Planning Approval:
• Local connection to the immediate village (close family deemed as local connection is usually limited to mother, father, siblings or children). You may have a local connection if you were brought up in the area by a different family member such as aunt, uncle or grandparent
• Households working in the parish. Employment is defined as meaning permanent full-time employment or self-employment. Predominantly working inside the Bainbridge locality.
• If there are no applicants who meet the local connection, consideration will be given to applicants from the next nearest village/parish
Properties are due to be completed in July and advertising for the vacancies will take place around late May 2024.
Incoming tenants will be required to provide a full housing history. As a responsible landlord North Star will carry out the relevant checks for eligibility. Two references will be required. One of these must be from a previous landlord. North Star will also carry out affordability checks for any potential tenant
Rents will be subject to a valuation in the Summer but are likely to be about £110 per week. This excludes Council Tax, Utilities and all other running costs
Housing Management and repairs will be undertaken by North Star Housing Group.
