Considering a mutual exchange?
If you’re looking to move but worried about finding someone to take over your tenancy, a mutual exchange might be a good option for you.
During a mutual exchange process, two or more council tenants or housing associations swap their properties. You will move into the ‘swapped’ property and take on tenancy responsibility, while your exchange partner moves into your old property.
A mutual exchange can take place with someone living nearby, or in a totally different part of the country. You can exchange your property for a smaller home or a larger house, depending on your needs.
