Keeping your home safe: update from the Compliance team

Keeping your home safe is one of our most important responsibilities. We carry out regular safety checks, testing and servicing to make sure your home stays safe and well-maintained.

If you feel worried about an upcoming appointment or a letter you've received, please contact your Housing Officer or our Customer Services team. We'll be happy to talk it through with you.

The following are examples of safety work taking place:

  • Radon gas testing completed by Mouldex
  • Smoke detector testing (annual program for all electric properties) completed by AG Electrical Solution
  • Solar PV servicing (every 3 years) completed by AG Electrical Solution

  • Servicing Program on Solar Thermal (every 3 years) completed by Dave Casey

The contractor carrying out the work may contact you to arrange an appointment. When they arrive, you can always ask to see their ID before letting them into your home.

If you need extra support or have any accessibility requirements that make it difficult to arrange or attend an appointment, please let us know. We'll do everything we can to support you.

Your tenancy agreement says you must allow reasonable access for essential safety checks, servicing and repairs. If we cannot access your home, we may need to involve your Housing Officer and take further action. In some cases, this could include tenancy enforcement or legal action to gain access. If this happens, you may be responsible for any costs involved.

If you think you'll have difficulty keeping your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible so we can help.
