Help for homes using oil as main heat source
We have sent a letter to all customers whose main heating source is oil.
You may have heard that the government has set aside £50 million over the next 3 years for oil crisis payments through the new Crisis and Resilience Fund. It aims to support households struggling to meet the rising cost of oil, where oil is your main heat source.
You may be eligible if you meet all of the following:
- your main heating source is oil
- you are on a low income
- your oil tank is currently at 30% or lower capacity and you are at immediate risk of being unable to heat your home or access hot water
Your oil tank gauge or your smart oil monitoring on your phone will indicate the level of oil in your tank. If this is at 30% or lower, you may be eligible for support.
For heating oil claims you may be asked to provide:
- a screenshot or picture to confirm the current level of oil in your tank
- your last heating oil invoice (if relevant)
- a recent quote for minimum oil delivery (if relevant)
- current bank statement.
