Changes to Sexual Harassment Laws from 30th October

With effect from 30th October, the law now places a stronger duty on employers to take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. These changes recognise that harassment can come from third parties, including customers, contractors, visitors and others who interact with our teams.

Sexual harassment will not be tolerated at North Star. We are committed to ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

To help achieve this, all staff receive training that enables them to:

Understand what sexual harassment is and recognise inappropriate behaviour.

Act confidently as an active bystander when safe to do so.

Know how to report concerns and support others.

Help prevent harassment in the workplace.

We have clear reporting procedures throughout our Sexual Harassment in the Workplace Policy. Support is available to anyone who experiences or witnesses inappropriate behaviour.

Every report is taken seriously. Concerns are investigated promptly by managers, and appropriate action is taken where necessary.

We ask everyone who interacts with North Star colleagues to play their part in treating them with respect. Thank you for helping us create a safe and inclusive environment for our colleagues, customers, contractors and everyone we work with.
