I joined The Tenant's Voice in 2025 (TTV) as I have so far been a tenant of North Star for 12 years and an involved tenant for 7+ years. I was in the previous scrutiny group TVSP too.
I started being involved by joining an online meeting to talk about my garden and grounds work. This was around the time covid 19 started. Then I just kept replying to emails and still do up until this day. I genuinely feel by giving my opinions, voice and being involved with North Star Housing was something I 'fell' into so to speak and I believe I found something I am good at and enjoy so much.
This involvement has helped me branch out to other social housing-related committees and panels.
I genuinely enjoy helping the customer/s voice be heard in many ways. I wish for all tenant voices to be heard; I actively encourage them to be heard, and for tenants to be involved in all areas of North Star Housing. I am especially in interested in disabled/vulnerable and rural customers being represented.
Fun fact- I own two dogs that sometimes make an appearance on online meetings to say hello to fellow customers.
