Different homes have different heating systems. You should have received a user guide for the heating system in your home in your welcome pack. This will explain how your system works and how to use it.
Most newer heating systems have two thermostats, usually one upstairs and one downstairs. These are wall-mounted controls that let you manage the heating in different parts of your home.
Each thermostat controls its own area (or “zone”).
The upstairs thermostat controls the radiators upstairs
The downstairs thermostat controls the radiators downstairs
This means you can heat the rooms you are using without heating the whole house, which can help save energy and keep costs down.
There are many different makes and models of thermostats, but they all do the same job: they help you control your heating easily and efficiently. Your user guide will show you how to change the temperature and use settings such as timers or holiday mode.
Please do not turn your boiler, heating or hot water on and off at the mains or power socket. Always use the thermostat to control your heating.
North Star is responsible for servicing your heating system. We will contact you to arrange an appointment when a service is due.
