Supported Living

We provide a range of supported housing services across the North East.

We have both temporary and long-term housing to help residents maintain their independence and provide support through specialist organisations where appropriate.

Temporary Supported Services

Our temporary supported services are accessible for people aged 16+.

We offer housing and support solutions for people who need a little extra help to gain vital skills and confidence to live independently.

We have purpose-built accommodation with the provision of on-site staff, as well as the option for a support worker to visit you in your own home or in accommodation not directly provided by us.

Hestia Service

Our Hestia service provides settled accommodation for vulnerable women at risk of homelessness.

Hestia properties are:
• Self-contained one or two-bed town houses, within walking distance of central Middlesbrough
• Fully furnished- we provide all the essential furniture you need
• Safe and warm- properties are double-glazed with central heating. A full repair service is provided
• Assured Shorthold Tenancies

Practical support is provided on an individual basis in partnership with other agencies and may include:
• Managing a tenancy
• Budgeting
• Claiming benefits
• Training
• Volunteering
• Improving self-confidence
• Managing health
• Finding employment
• Recreational activities

Support is available for up to two years. When support is no longer needed and the tenant has managed the property well, it will revert to a general needs tenancy with North Star. This means that the Hestia tenant does not need to move on from the property they have gotten used to calling home.

Young Person's Service

Parkfield Hall is supported accommodation for care leavers who are ready to move into semi-independent living. At Parkfield Hall, there is a commitment to empower tenants and support their independence. Support staff organise events, help tenants with life skills, and put them in touch with other organisations to help them on their journey to independence. All referrals for accommodation are made via the Children’s Education and Social Care Department. There are support staff available weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays, as well as additional out-of-hours security.
