Health & Safety

Protecting the health, safety and well being of our staff and tenants is important to us. Managing our Health & Safety activities is an essential part of risk management, core principles of North Star’s business operation and is led by our Board and Directors.

Our principles are:

Strong and active leadership from the top:

  • Integration of good health and safety management with business decisions

  • Identifying and managing health and safety risk
  • Accessing and following competent advice
  • Monitoring, reporting and reviewing performance

Emma Speight (Executive Director of Assets and Growth) has overall responsibility for ensuring North Star comply with all our Health and Safety requirements. Peter Akers (Head of Assets and Property Services) takes and operational lead for Health & Safety across the organisation supported by a Steering Group who monitor the implementation of the policy, ensuring that Health & Safety procedures are effectively applied and regularly reviewed and revised.
