I began my career as a manager in the leisure sector before moving into HR, then called Personnel, as a Training Manager. Over the years, I held senior HR roles in retail, education and professional services, and eventually became HR Director. In 2020, I set up my own business, supporting organisations with interim management, coaching, investigations and learning and development.

When I made that career move, I knew I wanted to focus on organisations with a social purpose. There can be few things more critical to an individual or a family than a safe secure and comfortable home.  I grew up in a council house in rural East Yorkshire and I know my family wouldn’t have had the same stability in the private rented sector. That personal experience drives my commitment to North Star and the wider housing sector, where the work genuinely improves lives.

Alongside my professional commitments, I’m a keen amateur chef and gardener, and I particularly enjoy growing my own vegetables.

For me, being part of North Star is about contributing to something bigger. Housing is one of the most important foundations in life, and I’m proud to be part of an organisation that sets out to make a positive difference to people and communities.
