Board Member & RECC* Member

I began my career as a manager in the leisure sector and, after holding various roles, quickly transitioned into HR (or Personnel, as it was then) as a Training Manager.  I had roles in Leisure and Retail before moving into generalist HR as a People Director.  I have since had a career as an HR professional in a variety of sectors, including Retail, Education, and Professional services.

In 2020, I set up my own business, providing HR support to Organisations primarily through Interim Management, mediation, coaching, Investigations, and Learning and Development.

As part of my career move in 2020, I wanted to work in sectors and for organisations that had a social purpose and contributed positively to society. There can be few things more critical to an individual or a family than a safe, secure, and comfortable home. I also grew up in a council house in rural East Yorkshire, and later realised the importance of that home, which we could not have afforded in the private sector.  For that reason, I enjoy working in the industry and being a small part of an organisation and a sector that aims to make a positive difference in people's lives.

In what spare time I have, I am a keen amateur chef and gardener (combining the two through vegetable growing).
