Warm Home Discount Scheme for Winter 2025/26

Many households face higher energy costs this winter. Support is available through the Warm Home Discount Scheme and Pension Credit. Both can make a big difference. However, scammers are trying to trick people who could get this help, so it’s important to be careful.

Warm Home Discount Scheme for Winter 2025/26

The Warm Home Discount (WHD) gives £150 off your electricity bill if you have a low income.

What you need to know:

  • If you are eligible, your electricity supplier will apply the discount automatically – you do not need to apply.
  • The helpline is open now if you have questions: 0800 030 9322
  • If you get the Guarantee Credit part of Pension Credit, you usually qualify automatically (if your name is on the electricity account and your supplier takes part)
  • Letters will be sent by January 2026 to households that may be eligible
