Fun for Everyone at Skerne Park

On the 8th of August, we teamed up with Darlington Council Housing Services to run a Community Event at Skerne Park Community Centre.

It was brilliant meeting so many of our customers and members of the local community.

Here’s what we got up to:

• Children enjoyed colourful face painting and balloon animals (our CEO, James Walder, even had his face painted!).

• Families had a go at archery with the Scouts, rode on the dodgems, and played sports and games.

• Free ice creams, hot dogs, burgers, and fresh coffee.

• Stalls gave helpful advice from Citizens Advice, energy teams, the police, and the local dog warden.

One young visitor said it best: “This is the best day ever!”

The event was more than just fun. It gave people the chance to make connections, get support, and celebrate a community we’re proud to be part of.
