Service charges are calculated based on the actual cost of providing the service and are reviewed every year.
Why is my service charge going up?
High inflation has affected the services we provide so many costs, in particular gas and electricity, have substantially increased.
We estimate your annual service charge using your actual spend from the previous year, with an inflationary increase for our cleaning and grounds maintenance contracts.
How is North Star supporting its tenants?
We understand that you may have worries about service charge increases. We know tenants are facing challenges with the increase in fuel, food, and household bills.
We aim to try and minimise cost increases for our tenants by putting contacts in place to ensure our services deliver value for money. Any information we receive about changes to our services is always considered carefully so we can forecast accurately. We try to keep any differences in your annual service charge to a minimum.
Our priority is to support tenants to stay in their homes. If you’re concerned about paying your service charge, we want to hear from you as soon as possible.
