North Star welcomes residents of Darlington Housing Association - Find out more
Everyone can struggle with bills at times. Illness, loss or change of employment, change in benefit, relationship breakdown; all these factors can affect any one of us at any time.
Paying your rent and keeping your home secure is essential. If you are struggling, the most important thing to do is to seek help.
If you are having difficulties paying your rent, your housing officer is here to help.
They can arrange to come and visit you or if you prefer to discuss over the phone. Your housing officer will be able to offer support, advice and guidance and work with you to agree a repayment plan if you are in arrears.
We also have two welfare benefits officers who can check that you are receiving all the benefits you are due and/or claim for benefits you may be entitled to.
If you fall into arrears, we will do everything we can to help you and we will need you to communicate with us. If you don’t communicate with us, we will have no alternative but to take legal action which may result in you losing your home.
You can contact your housing officer on 03000 11 00 11 or visit our website www.northstarhg.co.uk for more details.
