Everyone can struggle with bills at times. There are lots of things that can cause us to struggle with our bills. Illness, loss or change of employment, changes to benefits, and relationship breakdowns are just a few examples of what can make this more difficult.
Paying your rent and keeping your home secure is essential. If you are struggling, the most important thing to do is to seek help.
If you are having difficulties paying rent, your housing officer is here to help.
They can arrange to come and visit you or, if you prefer, discuss it over the phone. If you are in arrears, your housing officer can offer support, advice, and guidance. They will work with you to agree on a repayment plan that you can manage.
We also have a dedicated Welfare Benefits team who can check that you are receiving all the benefits you are due and entitled to.
If you fall into arrears, we will do everything we can to help you. To be able to help you, we need you to communicate with us. If you don’t, we will have no alternative but to take legal action which may result in losing your home.
We're here to offer support and advice for managing your money, maximising your income and getting the help you need with household costs.
