We’re proud to support the brilliant communities our customers call home. Once again, we are offering grants of up to £2,500 to help turn your ideas into reality.
Whether you’re planning a new community activity, an event, or a local improvement project, we want to hear from you.
We’re especially interested in projects that benefit North Star customers and align with one or more of our key priorities:
No Poverty
Good Health and Wellbeing
Quality Education
Sustainable Cities and Communities
We welcome applications from across all the areas we work in, but we’ll give priority to projects based in:
Hartlepool (Belle Vue)
Evenwood
Cockfield
Thornaby
Stockton (Town Centre)
Middlesbrough (Gresham/Newport)
East Cleveland (Carlin How and Skinningrove)
You're eligible if you are part of a community group, resident association, charity, school, parish or town council, or a North Star-supported scheme. You’ll just need a group or project bank account, or a partner organisation that can receive the funds on your behalf.

Thanks to the help from a panel of North Star staff and Your Voice customers, earlier this year, we were able to provide funding to 6 great projects, including:
Creative Village CIC
We awarded funding to Stockton-based Creative Village CIC. They ran art workshops to help build confidence, reduce loneliness and boost mental well-being.
Director Jess Langford said: “The funding is amazing, we couldn't have done it without it. It has really helped with the cost of materials.”
Lets Pretend and Play CIC
Another project we funded was Lets Pretend and Play CIC, a play centre in Hartlepool giving children and families a safe, fun place to go. Our grant has helped fund repairs to help the place thrive.
Co-founder Tracey Bromley said: “Without North Star, we wouldn't have been able to run half of the activities we have been able to.”
