Welcome to North Star Housing Group

What We Value

Collaboration

We work hard at being a good partner, employer and landlord by involving and empowering people and working with one another. We listen, learn and reflect. We place people and communities at the centre of all we do and we encourage and welcome challenge.

Flexibility

We provide local, personal and responsive services and individual solutions where needed. We encourage people to think creatively and imaginatively.

Integrity

We never promise what we cannot deliver and we work in an open and transparent way. We are committed to providing equality of opportunity, we treat everyone with respect and we value people’s differences. We own up when things do not go right and work hard at finding solutions.

Professionalism

We aim to deliver excellence in all we do. We are committed to working ethically and do all we can to help with environmental issues. We deliver value for money and ensure staff are highly trained and developed.

Ambition

Known as an organisation that “punches above its weight”, we are courageous, enthusiastic and innovative. We are committed to growth and delivering bespoke solutions even when it is not the easy option. We do challenging work that benefits communities and we aim to be a 3* organisation.

Why North Star?

Organisations that are individually successful can be stronger and more effective when they unite, particularly when it comes to addressing the complex issues associated with rural and urban housing and community regeneration.

This is the thinking behind the North Star Housing Group.

North Star brings together the skills, resources and values of Endeavour and Teesdale Housing Associations to form an equal partnership. We are a strong body with a clear vision of what we want to achieve for the people who live in the region.

All of this culminates in an exciting new phase in the creation of affordable, high quality housing and sustainable communities.

Our Structure

North Star Housing Group consists of two operating companies, Endeavour Housing Association and Teesdale Housing Association. The non-asset holding parent body of this organisation is North Star.

Both operating companies enjoy equal partnership, whilst continuing to retain their separate identities and operating locations in addition to their relationship with residents.

What Endeavour and Teesdale Housing Associations do share is a strong commitment to working together to fulfil common goals.

Partners

Both Endeavour and Teesdale have strong local presence and great track records of providing housing and services for a range of needs across the region.

Operating right across the North East of England, Endeavour Housing Association’s regeneration and building work encompasses everything from small scale developments of housing for the physically disabled to involvement in multi-partner urban renewal projects.

With the provision of affordable, high quality, rural housing becoming increasingly scarce, Teesdale Housing Association’s main priority is to provide affordable homes for rent in the predominantly rural area of Teesdale.

In coming together, both partners can play to our individual strengths whilst reaping the benefits that come from being a larger organisation. We are now in a good position to meet the Housing Corporation and Government's agenda for increased efficiency through the delivery of central services via our non-asset holding parent, North Star. It all adds up to a great deal.
