North Star is a member of PlaceShapers, the national network of community-based housing associations.

“We Share” is the 2019 campaign. It’s about the great things that PlaceShapers organisations do to share knowledge, skills and best practice for the benefit of all the communities we serve. We Share is also a platform for even more sharing with organisations outside the membership.

We are proud to have taken an active role in the “ We Share” week.

Kath Walton and Carole Richardson were invited to speak at a Wellbeing Breakfast organised by Business In The Community. They shared the North Stars approach to wellbeing within the workplace.

Diane Smith and Sarah Herrington hosted an event to share how our Housing Teams developed an approach to neighbourhood management. They took responsibility for organising themselves into self-managing neighbourhood teams.

Peter Locke and Coral Smith hosted an event to share North Star’s approach to generating social value from its procurement activities. The approach has helped North Star deliver a wide range of community projects including the recent refurbishment of the Community Hub in Thornaby.

Its been a great week. We have shared with each other, our partners and the wider business world.
