North Star has continued to develop its relationship with Teeside-based artist Abby Taylor. It was important that we had artwork  that reflected our strong connections with the Tees Valley and South West Durham areas.

We began life in 1974 buying and refurbishing older terraced housing in Middlesbrough and Hartlepool and in 2006 Teesdale Housing Association joined the group.

We were keen to support local talent, and Abby has produced a third piece of artwork for us. Her picture of Market Cross in Barnard Castle shows the iconic image with a modern twist.

Abby Taylor said: I have worked with North Star on three separate occasions and it has been an absolute pleasure on all counts. They commissioned me to produce original illustrations for use as wall graphics in their offices. From the friendly and inviting atmosphere I enjoyed when I visited, to the prompt and professional communication with Laura and Gemma, I have had since I met them in 2019, I cannot commend them highly enough!
