New Homes for North Star in Darlington

Teesside based housing association North Star Housing Group, have just taken handover of their final properties on Millfields at Lingfield Point in Darlington.

North Star now owns 41 properties on the site, which have been built in partnership with Taylor Wimpey over the last five years. The £3.2m investment has delivered a mix of two and three-bedroom houses, and two-bedroom apartments, all for rent. The homes are built to high environmental standards, supporting key sustainability initiatives.

North Star is a group of housing associations, including Darlington Housing Association, operating across the North East and North Yorkshire. North Star build and rent high-quality, affordable housing to meet a variety of needs, including specialist supported housing. The group is committed to creating homes and building futures as well as investing in people at every level.

Emma Speight, Executive Director of Assets and Growth at North Star, said: We are delighted to bring a mix of 41 new homes for families and young professionals to Darlington. It is a popular new development. We are pleased to have worked with Taylor Wimpey to move affordable housing forward within the wider estate; this has been over a five-year partnership.’

One of the residents Miss Maddison said, ‘my growing family and I were desperate for the extra space and felt so lucky when this property came up. We have had a positive experience here, and we are so excited about our future in this new house, we are settling in nicely.’
