The Living Wage campaign is an independent movement of businesses, organisations and people who believe a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. Employers opt to pay the real Living Wage on a voluntary basis -paying the real #LivingWage is the right thing to do and it makes perfect business sense.
The real Living Wage is independently calculated based on, what employees and their families need; to live.
There are many benefits of paying the Living Wage, the campaign has now delivered more than £1 billion in extra wages to workers since it began in 2001, it has lifted over 200,000 people out of in-work poverty and since accreditation Living Wage Employers report an 86% increase in staff motivation.
Along with 5,500 other employers North Star are proud to be an accredited Living Wage Employer. We are showing our support by raising as much awareness as possible of how important it is to pay the real #LivingWage.
