Change is coming section:

Coming soon – Tees Valley Homefinder

We’ve listened to your feedback and will be launching Tees Valley Homefinder on the 2nd August 2021 to replace the existing Compass Choice Based Lettings Policy.  Tees Valley Homefinder will provide a new, improved way to find a home and will be implemented alongside a new Common Allocation Policy.

Over the coming weeks we will contact ALL customers who have a Compass housing application.   Customers will be contacted on a phased basis.  We are doing this to ensure that we can provide advice and support to all our customers in a timely way.

Regular and timely information updates will be also be provided via the Compass website https://www.compasscbl.org.uk/

Until Tees Valley Homefinder goes live continue to log onto your Compass housing application and bid on suitable properties.

We understand you may have lots of questions, so we have added some frequently asked questions below, this provides information on why these changes are being made and what you need to do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are these changes happening?

Our Compass system is quite old and not always easy to use.  We have listened to customer feedback and created Tees Valley Homefinder, a new customer friendly lettings platform.  Tees Valley Homefinder will make it much easier and quicker for you to both manage your details and apply for a new home.

What will happen on the 2nd August 2021?

On Monday 2nd August 2021 Tees Valley Homefinder will go live and start to advertise properties.  The existing Compass website will not be available after this date.

What do I need to do?

Over the coming weeks we will be contacting ALL current Compass customers to explain what you need to do.  We will write to you, so please check that your current contact details are correct on Compass.

Who will be contacted first?

Initially we will contact all Band 4 applicants.

What should I do if I am a Band 1, Band 2, or Band 3 applicant?

You don’t need to do anything at this point.  Please don’t worry we will contact you in the coming weeks to explain what you need to do and when.

I am registering on Compass for the first time, what should I do?

If you are making a new application to Compass, please also log into Tees Valley Homefinder http://earlyaccess.teesvalleyhomefinder.org/  and register a new account.  This way you will be ready when Tees Valley Homefinder goes live.

You mentioned a new Common Allocation Policy, can I see it?

Yes, a copy of the full policy can viewed at https://www.compasscbl.org.uk/.   Whilst this document provides a summary of the key changes, Tees Valley Homefinder will continue to work to a banding system.  As you will see some changes have been made and some customers will see their band change.  If you are affected by a banding change, we will write to you to explain the change.  Band changes do not mean your application will be looked at any differently, it just means you may now sit in a different band.

Where can I find out more?

Regular and timely updates will be made on this page of the Compass website.

Finally, we understand that you may have some questions.  If so please contact us on: Customer.Services@northstarhg.co.uk or 03000 11 00 11
