Keith Hadlet, joined North Star (or Endeavour as we were known then) back in 1985 as a junior housing assistant.

Back in 1985 Endeavour housing association had 722 properties (we now have close to 4,000). Keith would leave the office in Grange Road, Middlesbrough in his Austin Allegro and collect rents door to door, in Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Stockton.

Keith said; ‘Back when I started out, one of my tenants would let me use her living room as a kind of office and other tenants would call in and pay their rent.” Apart from the car, the only equipment Keith had was rents cards, rent papers and a calculator.

Keith has progressed in the organisation and as a Housing Officer has worked across Stockton, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and the East Cleveland area.
