North Star welcomes residents of Darlington Housing Association - Find out more

24 Housing recently announced their Top 50 Landlords, and North Star are proud to feature. North Star was recognised for not only delivering homes, but fostering communities.

This year the special ingredient was a balance of development and social value. The housing associations that made the list are the ones who have been able to not only cover a wide range of initiatives, but manage to keep them successfully running.

North Star was praised for its commitment to regeneration, with a focus on the recent Middlehaven development which demonstrates how the organisation invests in creating better places for residents to live and work. The group’s shared leadership approach was also mentioned, showing a best practice approach for increasing wellbeing, and their approach to involving both staff and tenants in their strategy to 2023.

North Star, and the housing associations within the list, demonstrated a real commitment to supporting tenants, communities, staff and beyond. Examples of supporting people into work, developing young people’s skills to succeed and helping the older generation live more independent and socially inclusive lives could all be seen within the top 50. The continuation of the rent cut has put pressure on many of these services, but the organisations within the list have refused to let this stop them, and continue to lead the way in advocating them.
